Kimi no Iru Machi Release Date: July 13, 2013 Animation Production: Gonzo
Summary: Eba Yuzuki, a girl from Tokyo moves to a countryside to attend high school. She lives together with a guy named Kirishima Haruto whose father is an apprentice of Eba’s father. Haruto never agrees to let Yuzuki stay at his house and always rejects her. Another girl, Kanzaki Nanami, comes whom Haruto might be in love with. So… what will happen in this story?
Impression: Hikaru Based from an ongoing drama romance manga. Might give this a few episodes try. Sid I’m curious to watch a new romance, but I also see this turning out horribly for someone. Knowing my luck the person who doesn’t get in a relationship is the one I’ll like more. I wonder why that is… I’ll give it a couple episodes. Joshua I LOVE THIS MANGA SERIES. I WILL DEFINITELY WATCH THIS! Also, for those who plan to watch it. Beware, you might CRY. A LOT.
Gen’ei o Kakeru Taiyou Release Date: July 6, 2013 Animation Production: AIC
Summary: A story of girls who solve mysterious matters that occur in this world, using the mystical tarot cards that hold the power to read destinies.
Impression: Hikaru Looks like a dark themed story of magical girls and tarot cards. I’m in. That LiSa OP theme might also just make it to my favorites this season. Sid I don’t really think this one will be worth picking up, but I would like to give it a couple episodes first. Joshua Tarot, Magical Girls, and Mystery. This is totally my kind of series. Will follow this religiously.
Servant x Service Release Date: July 05, 2013 Animation Production: A-1 Pictures
Summary: Anime about the staff of the health and welfare section of the ward office of a certain city. Newcomers Hasebe Yutaka, Yamagami, Miyoshi Saya, and their supervisor Ichimiya Taishi go through the everyday quirks of working at their office.
Impression: Hikaru A pretty mundane plot not worth my time. Pass. Sid It might sound a boring anime from the summary but I think Working!! had a pretty boring summary as well but turned out to be one of my favorite comedies. I think this one can turn out the same way. Joshua Pass.

Summary: Second season of Monogatari, the prequel to Bakemonogatari
Impression: Hikaru I would definitely not miss a season of the Monogatari series. If only the novel had a licensed English translation, I’m pretty sure I would have picked it up already. Sid Yes. No not just yes, “Holy crap I wont miss this for the world”. If you haven’t caught on how much this series means to me and how often SHAFT impresses me then this should come to no surprise. I’m sure that everyone is dying to see more if this series after the first season of Monogatari. Personally I would like to see more past Nisemonogatari as well. Joshua Been wanting to pick up the whole series. Probably will watch the whole series together.
Senki Zesshou Symphogear G Release Date: June 24, 2013 Animation Production: Satelight
Summary: Second season of Senki Zesshou Symphogear
Impression: Hikaru Pass. Sid I would say that I want to watch the second season because I watched the first, but I really don’t. I really really don’t. I was into the first season at the beginning, but it soon turned into a chore to watch. I have watched the second season of anime I didn’t give a good rating to, but I can’t sit through this again. A feel-good-everything-ok anime just wont cut it. Joshua Pass.

Summary: The story begins with Oomiya Shinobu, a 15-year-old, seemingly pure Japanese girl who actually did a homestay in Great Britain. Even after coming back to Japan, she still misses her time overseas. One day, an airmail letter arrives from Alice, the girl in Shinobu’s host family in Great Britain. The letter reads: Shinobu, I’m coming to Japan! The Japanese/British girls’ mixed comedy follows the lives of Shinobu, Alice, and other girls from both Japan and Great Britain.
Impression: Hikaru A regular shoujo school life anime. Pass. Sid I’m sorry but I got to give this a pass as well (I’m such a negative Nancy this season). It doesn’t appeal to me in any way whatsoever. Joshua YES I WILL WATCH THIS!
High School DxD NEW Release Date: July 07, 2013 Animation Production: TNK
Summary: Second season of High School DxD
Impression: Hikaru Pass. Sid I didn’t watch the first season but I have heard it is quite entertaining despite being ecchi. Joshua Finally! The long awaited sequel. Despite its overt ecchi-ness, this series has a dark side, as well as an interesting mix of Western-Eastern mythology.
Senyuu 2 Release Date: July 03, 2013 Animation Production: Ordet
Summary: Second season of Senyuu
Impression: Hikaru The only shorts I’m following for the comic script. This one’s on my list. Sid I’m looking forward to more Senyuu. If you haven’t seen the first season I urge you to run through it quickly before this one starts. Easily one of the best shorts of all time. Joshua Pass
Fantasista Doll Release Date: July 06, 2013 Animation Production: Hoods Entertainment
Summary: This original story revolves around cute dolls who fight and power up with special cards.
Impression: Hikaru How will another magical shoujo fare this season? We’ll just have to find out. Sid I was thinking about giving this one a shot but I watched the quick trailers on their main website and it doesn’t seem like the one for me. It seems a bit too happy for my tastes. What did I expect from a “cute dolls who fight” summary though? Music sounded pretty awesome though so I might keep an ear out for the OST. Joshua This reminds me of Cardcaptor. I love cardcaptor. Will watch this.
Blood Lad Release Date: July 08, 2013 Animation Production: Brains Base
Summary: Staz is the vampire boss of a section of the demon world, but he has little interest in human blood. He’s more infatuated with Japanese culture. When he learns that Yanagi Fuyumi, a Japanese teenage girl, accidentally wanders into the demon city, he jumps to the occasion. However, while Staz deals with an intruder on his turf, the oblivious Fuyumi is killed by a monster and becomes a wandering ghost. The disappointed Staz vows to her that he will find a way to bring Fuyumi back to life.
Impression: Hikaru A vampire who is an otaku? Now that’s a modern twist! This is based on an ongoing manga but I’m looking forward to this. Having Ryota Ohsaka (Sanada Yuki from Tsuritama and Maou Sadao from Hataraku Maou-sama) who is undoubtedly a rising star among seiyuus is a plus. Sid After watching the trailer and reading the summary it seems like it could be a pretty good comedy (possibly action?). I think that this one might be worth picking up at the start and seeing how it goes. It doesn’t hurt to try at least. Joshua This seems pretty good! Looking forward to this.
Uchouten Kazoku Release Date: July 16, 2013 Animation Production: P.A. Works
Summary: In Kyoto, there are three kinds of residents: humans, raccoon dogs, and tengu. Shimogamo Yasaburou is the third son of the Shimogamo raccoon dog family. His father, Souichirou, had been the head of Kyoto raccoon dog community until he was eaten by the human members of “Friday Club”. While taking care of old tengu, fighting with other raccoon dogs, and playing with a psychic human girl, Yasaburou approaches the truth of his father’s death.
Impression: Hikaru I missed my dose of supernatural/fantasy so I’m giving this a shot. Interested at how Yasaburou can play out the gender bender component too. Sid When I first read the description I was thinking, “What?”. After watching the trailer I was thinking, “What?… Eh why not?”. It seems that it can be pretty interesting. The various characters is a melting pot of fun. Joshua This will take the place of my RDG withdrawal. Will watch it.
Love Lab Release Date: July 05, 2013 Animation Production: Dogakobo
Summary: The Fujisaki Girls Academy is known for their school body being composed of very proper students. The most prominent one of them is Maki, the student president who is admired by her classmates for her calm and polite demeanor. On the other hand, Kurahashi Riko is also admired but for having a very forward and boyish personality. Riko accidentally walks into Maki while she’s practicing kissing with a pillow and learns that she isn’t what everyone thinks she is. Riko is forced into keeping Maki’s secret and join her in practicing all aspects of romance like holding hands and more.
Impressions: Hikaru Pass. Sid I don’t think this one will be that great because its been done before. Maybe not the exact plot but an all girls school with a group of friends in comedic situations gets boring. I admit that YuriYuri was pretty entertaining so I’ll give this a couple episodes to be fair. The odds of me keeping it are very low. Joshua I will watch a few episodes.

Gin no Saji Release Date: July 12, 2013 Animation Production: A-1 Pictures
Summary: Yugo Hachiken dreams of life separated from his family, so he takes the initiative by enrolling in an agriculture school. He thinks, with his talent in studying, no problems will arise no matter what kind of school he attends. He is proven wrong very quickly. Raised as a city boy, he is forced to uncover the inconvenient truth about agricultural life. Enjoy the story of Hachiken, as he tries to keep up with his new friends, farmers’ heirs, who are already accustomed to the harsh world of farming. With no clear goals or understanding of farming life, how will Hachiken survive this new, cruel reality? The story of a sweat, tear, and mud-stained youth begins!
Impression: Hikaru Silver Spoon is usually associated with prosperity and wealth. Perhaps this is what our MC will be aiming for? Will give this a shot. Sid This anime has a very “summer” feel to it. To keep in the season I’ll give this one a shot. I quite like slice of life anime and I want to remember its summer even when there are thunderstorms where I live. Joshua Pass
Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou Release Date: July 02, 2013 Animation Production: Gonzo
Summary: A nonsense comical mystery. Harumi Kazuhito is a high school boy who loves books and is a fan of novelist Natsuno Kirihime. One day, he finds Kirihime writing at a cafe, about to be shot by a robber. He protects her from the attack but is killed instead. Through the supernatural power of a book-worm, he is reincarnated as a dachshund dog. Kazuhito (as a dog) writhes in a painful bookless life, when a sadistic woman carrying a pair of scissors offers him help. She is Kirihime herself.
Impression: Hikaru I would have been interested had the series stuck to the serious part of the plot. But when Kazuhito turns into a dog after saving his idol author and is saved by the sadistic author herself, this totally sounds like bad news. Pass. Sid I hate to say this but when I read “sadistic woman carrying a pair of scissors” a part of me wanted it to be Senjougahara. I know, I know I’m an addict but how sweet would that be? Still I want to give this one a shot because it sounds kind of interesting. Compared to a lot of the anime this season it has peaked my interests. Joshua This sounds a little wacky and Midori day-ish. Got to watch it.
Danganronpa Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei The Animation Release Date: July 05, 2013 Animation Production: Lerche
Summary: A group of 15 elite high school students are gathered at a very special, high class high school. To graduate from this high school essentially means you’ll succeed in life, but graduating is very difficult. The school is presided over by a bear called Monokuma, and he explains to them that their graduation hinges around committing a murder. The only way to graduate is to kill one of your classmates and get away with it. If the other classmates discover the identity of the killer, the killer is the only one executed. However, if they fail to catch the killer, only the killer graduates and the others are annihilated. Which of the 15 will survive the bloodbath to come?
Impression: Hikaru Another Battle Royale inspired anime. Will try to watch this. Sid A dark anime like this is down my alley. I’m definitely going to give this one a shot. It’s always exciting getting attached to certain characters and sitting at the edge of your seat when their life is in danger. Does that sound creepy? It seems creepy. Joshua Wasn’t sure I was going to watch it until I found out the Bear presides over the school. I mean. Bear loyalty, this panda got to watch this.
Tokurei Sochi Dantai Stella Jo-Gakuin Koutou-ka C3-Bu Release Date: July 05, 2013 Animation Production: Gainax
Summary: Yura Yamato has just arrived at the high school division of Stella Women’s Academy, when Sonora Kashima invites her to join a club called “C³”. Sonora is the third-year student who became the new head of this club for military survival games. The other members include two second-year students (part-Japanese Karila Hatsuse and G36K-wielding Honoka Mutsu) and two other new students (Rento Kirishima whose family runs a Japanese sweets shop and the really short Yachiyo Hinata).
Impression: Hikaru Pass. Sid I don’t think this anime will be good at all but I will give it a shot. I can’t judge a book by its cover after all right?! Well I can, and do, but I still want to give this a couple episodes. Joshua Pass
Brother Conflict Release Date: July 03, 2013 Animation Production: Brains Base
Summary: Hinata Ema is the only daughter of a famous adventurer, Hinata Rintarou. One day, Ema learns that Rintarou is going to remarry with a successful apparel maker named Asahina Miwa. Since she doesn’t want to disturb them, Ema decides to move out and live with her 11 new brothers in a mansion called Sunrise Residence. As they live under the same roof, romance is starting to grow between Ema and the Asahina brothers.
Impression: Hikaru Based from a novel turned otome game. That’s a yes on my list for all the bishies. Sid Pass. I don’t think I have to explain why. Joshua Might watch a few. But unlikely to follow this series. Date a live is a rare series where a game-ish storyline works out well.

Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui! Release Date: July 08, 2013 Animation Production: Silver Link
Summary: Kuroki Tomoko is a super popular, high school girl who has had 50 years of dating experience and 100 boys… in the Otome game world. In the real world, she is a 15-year-old shut in who has all of the qualities of a “mojo” (a gloomy or unpopular woman). However, when school isn’t going as she expected, and she isn’t as popular as she had thought she was, she takes a look at herself in the mirror for the first time in a few years, and has some shocking revelations…
Impression: Hikaru Will this hikikomori accept the truth or blast reality? A pass for now. Sid Is this going to be the girl version of The World God Only Knows? Nah… but I’ll still give it a go. It seems like it can be a pretty entertaining one this season. It’s a little different than what I’m used to watching. Joshua Hikikomori stories. Must watch.
Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku Release Date: July 04, 2013 Animation Production: Nomad
Summary: When a friend asks Natsuki what high school club she’s going to join, she cheerfully responds “the go-home club” (meaning, she’s not going to join any of them). However, she soon realizes that this club actually exists at her high school, and she’s just expressed interest in joining it! Before she knows it, she ends up as one of the two new members of “the go-home club,” which is a small group of eccentric school girls. One of the girls likes fighting bears, while another is ridiculously rich. But what exactly constitutes the activities of “the go-home club”?
Impression: Hikaru A definite pass. Sid Pass. I don’t need to see something I’ve seen a thousand times before. Joshua This sounds funny. Will watch it.
Gatchaman Crowds Release Date: July 12, 2013 Animation Production: Tatsunoko Production
Summary: The story is set in Japan in the early summer of 2015. 180,000 people live in Tachikawa City, the “second metropolis” of the Tokyo area. Among them are “Gatchaman”—warriors who fight in special reinforced suits powered by “NOTE,” the manifestation of special spiritual powers in living beings. A council has scouted a group of individuals with latent powers to protect Earth from alien criminals. In recent years, the council has assigned Gatchaman warriors to deal with the mysterious entity known as “MESS.”
Impression: Hikaru Too little info without even a trailer but the plot sounds interesting. A pass for now. Sid I don’t know much about the anime without a preview or the production staff, but it seems pretty awesome. Probably one of my top three non-continuation anime this season. Joshua Pass.

Impression: Hikaru Never saw any of the previous seasons. Pass. Sid Still going eh? Joshua Pass. Will watch the whole series one day.
Free! Release Date: July 03, 2013 Animation Production: Kyoto Animation
Summary: The story revolves around Haruka Nanase, a boy who has always loved to be immersed in water, and to swim in it. Before graduating from elementary school, he participated in a swimming tournament along with his fellow swimming club members, Makoto Tachibana, Nagisa Hazuki, and Rin Matsuoka. After achieving victory, each of the boys went their separate ways. Time passed, and in the middle of their uneventful high school lives Rin appears and challenges Haruka to a match, showing Haruka his overwhelming power. Not wanting it to end like this, Haruka, gathers together Makoto and Nagisa once again and brings a new member named Rei Ryugazaki to create the Iwatobi High School Swimming Club in order to defeat Rin.
Impression: Hikaru And it’s a YES for Free to be on my list! Bishies plus that seiyuu line-up is a definite win. First title I’m seeing about swimming so I’m pretty excited. Chidori is missing a lot (of bishies) this season. Sid I know some people whoa re looking forward to this anime. I personally am not. I don’t think that sport anime are that entertaining. Swimming is a new one though so for that I give it some respect. I think I’ll hold off a bit until people tell me its worth checking out. Joshua Pass
Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya Release Date: July 06, 2013 Animation Production: Silver Link
Summary: Spin-off of Fate/Stay Night with Illyasviel von Einzbern as the protagonist, living an alternate life as a school girl.
Impression: Hikaru I like the Fate Series for its dark theme and beautiful animation. I have nothing against Ilya and she is cute but this is a pass. Sid I still haven’t managed to watch Fate/Stay Night. Pass. Joshua This seems interesting. I enjoyed the Fate series. Will watch it.
Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS Release Date: July 05, 2013 Animation Production: Project No. 9

Impression: Hikaru Haven’t seen the first season so it’s a pass. Sid I’m thinking that Joshua will be picking this one up from his first season’s review. I haven’t watched the first nor do I ever intend to. Joshua FINALLY ITS BACK ITS BACK ITS BACK!!! YESSSSSS
Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist Release Date: July 07, 2013 Animation Production: Dogakobo
Summary: The story revolves around William, an aristocratic family’s progeny with rare intellect. One day, his uncle lost his possessions after his business failed. Fearing that his family’s name has been tarnished, William returns home and searches with his family’s butler for anything that can be converted into cash. A search of the premises yields an underground room left by an ancestor. In the room is a magical seal, and William unintentionally summons a devil. The summoned devil tells William his name Dantalion, and reveals that William is the designator who can choose the acting ruler of the demon world.
Impression: Hikaru Master-servant and bishies to boot? That’s a yes on my list! Sid I’ll give this one a few episodes. I think it could turn out to be pretty interesting from what I’ve seen around the internet. I hope it turns out better than I expect. Joshua Will watch.
Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai 3 Release Date: July 08, 2013 Animation Production: Manglobe
Summary: Third season of Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai
Impression: Hikaru The Capturing God has returned and with the more important Goddess Arc too! The Tenri Arc served as a prequel and I’m looking forward to this 3rd season. Sid I honestly thought that I would be tired of this series by now with the first two seasons and the specials but I’m actually really excited for this one. I’ve honestly thought it got better each time, so why not put some trust in a third season? Joshua Pass

Choujigen Game Neptune The Animation Release Date: July 12, 2013 Animation Production: David Production
Summary: This is Gamindustri. Beings called the Goddesses rule the countries of this unreal world. The four Goddesses govern four states: Planeptune, Lastation, Lowee, and Leanbox. For many long years, these countries fought each other over the Shares, the source of the Goddess power.
Impression: Hikaru Pass. Sid I don’t know much about this one other than the summary and short PV on their website so I’ll give it a shot. The beginning of the PV seemed pretty boring then it got kind of intense. Though the music didn’t really help with making it seem like it would appeal to my tastes. Joshua Hmm… will watch a few episodes.
Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi Release Date: July 06, 2013 Animation Production: MADHOUSE
Summary: God abandoned the world on Sunday. As a result, nobody in the world can die or reproduce. A little girl, Ai, is the gravekeeper for a village. She has prepared 47 graves for the eventual deaths of every member of the village. Later, a boy who identifies himself as “Hampnie Hambart, the ‘Man-eating Toy’,” which is coincidentally the name that Ai’s mother left behind as the name of her father, arrives in the village and slaughters everybody. Just what is going on?
Impression: Hikaru With a light novel a its source material, I have high hopes for this. That’s a check on my list. Sid Dark and edgy? I smell a twist coming as well. Definitely in the top five most looked forward to this season. Though I’m having trouble deciding whether or not I like the art style. It seems to have vivid backgrounds and lighting effects but the character designs seem bland. I’ve liked MADHOUSE’s animation in a few of their past anime so maybe I’m just being picky. Joshua Ooo. Interesting premise. Will watch this.
