REC

Review: This anime is definitely a “wow” for me. A very short series (10 episodes long 12 minutes per episode) that was filled with nearly everything I wanted in a romance/comedy anime. This anime has some great pros like the way the two lovers meet, how they end up in the situation they are in, and the emotions stirring inside their heads. REC brought a very real life feeling the way they explain what each individual is going through, and how things can turn for better or worse. A unique story of Fumihiko Matsumaru, an average salesman, and Aka Onda, a voice actress captivated me right from the start. They meet each other the first episode of the anime when poor Fumihiko gets stood up by Tanaka from accounting and about to throw away the tickets to Roman Holiday. Aka uses her melodious voice to stop him from throwing them away and convincing him to take her instead. A touching story that I only wished could have went on longer, but not saying that it was cut short because everything progressed the way it should. Despite the length of REC, I felt no sense of “jumpy” scenes or episodes which I can say occurs quite often with animes. Arigato Hanamizawa Q-Tarou and Ryutaro Nakamura for such a masterpiece!

Final statements: This anime started, progressed, and ended very well. Although I didn’t feel as attached to the characters as in other longer series, this short and sweet tale really brought out the best. If I were you check it out! Must see!
