Title: Tantei Opera Milky Holmes
Summary: In the future world, people use ‘Toys’ that grant them superhuman abilities like ESP and telekinesis. This has led to a boom in both minor crimes and the need for Toy-using detectives to track down the offenders and bring them to justice. Opera Koyabashi runs the detective agency, Milky Holmes, staffed by four cheerful and energetic girls.
First Look: I didn’t expect much from the summary, and ended worse than that. The anime seems like it might be interesting with the idea of toys and detective girls, but the characters are just not my cup of tea.
At this point the four main characters lost all their Toys (or powers basically). Kind of boring when in the first episode they don’t have their powers don’t you think? The anime went from crime fighting to more slice of life. Now the team must suffer going from the high life of top detectives to your average joe.
The second episode didn’t really help either. The whole episode was just constant bickering between the detectives and I’m not really into the cute girl model. So after about 5-10 minutes I got bored, I don’t even remember finishing the episode. Though I’m not too worried about missing anything important. Because if the plot was left up for the villains then this anime is hopelessly lost.
For one, the four main baddies are watching these four detectives struggling with their powers. It seems like they feel pity which doesn’t strike me as “evil”. And one of them has the strange habit of taking off his shirt, while the other needs to point out that his shirtless comrade has hard nipples. To avoid any flagging or concerned parents I wont post the screenshot of the man-spanking either. The art style is pretty mediocre. There really isn’t anything to point out. The fight scenes were decent with a lot of talking. The soundtrack was even worse, so I wont bother mentioning it.
Final statements: After 1.5 episodes I decided to drop this anime. It doesn’t seem worth my time to even give it a bad review. I might pick it up later when I have less of a watch list, but I highly doubt it.
